Go green travel tips: little things that can make a big difference
More and more people take into account environmental way of travel. Here are some little green tips that can make your travel more environmentally friendly:
Try to reduce usage of plastic water bottles while you travel. Fill up a reusable water bottle instead and you avoid unnecessary waste of plastic bottles.
Before your leave, unplug the wall-warts. Electronics and appliances use energy even in standby status.
Pack lightly. The heavier a plane is, the more fuel it needs to get off the ground and airplane fuel is bad for the environment. Try to pack all you need in one bag. Moreover, it will be easier for you to take public transportation and get around.
Try to book a direct fly. Flying direct is eco-friendlier than making stop-overs, as taking off and landing requires a tremendous amount of fuel.
Choose green travel destinations when making vacation plans. When you do you destination research, just pay attention on the ecological conditions or just choose between famous eco-friendly travel destinations.
Stay at a green hotels. The hotels that practices ecologically responsible principles are called ‘green hotels’. Support green community by choosing eco-lodges, green bed and breakfasts, and hotels.
Use public transportation. It’s easy, cheap, and green.
Take the train. You will meet so many new interesting people there.
Follow everyday green lifestyle principles while you are traveling. Do you know that people are less eco-conscious while in a hotel? Travelers open a new bottle of shampoo every time they wash their hair, often leave the lights and air conditioner on when they leave the room, ask for their sheets to be changed or cleaned on a daily basis, etc.

just turn off the light and AC when you leave the room, and ask your family members and friends to do the same – to greener your travel…not nesseseraly to stay in hotels labeled “green”…their rates might too expensive…
