Have a look at full gallery.
It doesn’t say anywhere how she made it. Inspired by her work and inquires from our green community, we made a step by step instruction.
Before you start:
To make these awesome sea creatures, you need old empty plastic bottles, gloves, scissors, heat gun or burning candle.
Step1. Preparing the Bottle.
Empty and dry the bottle. Remove the paper wrapping or plastic sleeve wrapping.
Set the bottle on its side and cut off the neck of the bottle, using a serrated knife.
Step 2. Make tentacles by vertically cutting the bottles with scissors. Try to make tentacles different width: thin and thick. It will create more interesting effects when heating up.
Step 3.
It’s now time to heat it up. You can use a heat gun or, in case you don’t have one, you can heat it up with burning candle.
Important! If this project is done by the kids, this part needs to be supervised by the adults.
You can regulate the shape of the curls. The closer you move the plastic to the heat source, the more heat you apply, the curlier the tentacles are. After you curle the tentacles, heat the bottom of the bottle, i.e. the head of your creature to make it more real looking.
Step 4.
Bend the curly tentacles outwards.
You are done! Make more creatures using plastic bottles of different size and colors. If you use the part of the bottles with neck, you’ll get a totally different looking octopus or jellyfish.
